How are LGDs made (CVD, HPHT etc.)?

CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition): A diamond seed is placed in a chamber, carbon gases are introduced under controlled temperature and pressure, and carbon atoms deposit layer-by-layer to grow the diamond. HPHT (High Pressure, High Temperature): Conditions mimic deep-earth pressures; carbon is compressed into diamond form. These diamonds may sometimes have metallic catalyst inclusions.

How do LGDs compare with natural diamonds? What are the differences and advantages?

Similarities: Same 4Cs grading: Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat Certified by reputed gem labs (IGI, GIA, SGL) Identical hardness, brilliance, and durability Differences / Advantages: Much more affordable for the same quality — LGDs often cost 60-75% less than mined diamonds. Ethically and environmentally superior: no mining, no risk of conflict diamonds, less environmental damage.
