What is a lab-grown diamond (LGD)?

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, produced in a controlled laboratory environment by replicating the natural conditions of heat and pressure. They are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds.

Are LGDs “real” diamonds or synthetic/cheap imitations?

LGDs are not synthetic imitations; they are diamonds in every sense — the only difference is their origin. They have the same structure, strength (Mohs 10), brilliance, and properties as natural diamonds.

How are LGDs made (CVD, HPHT etc.)?

CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition): A diamond seed is placed in a chamber, carbon gases are introduced under controlled temperature and pressure, and carbon atoms deposit layer-by-layer to grow the diamond. HPHT (High Pressure, High Temperature): Conditions mimic deep-earth pressures; carbon is compressed into diamond form. These diamonds may sometimes have metallic catalyst inclusions.

How do LGDs compare with natural diamonds? What are the differences and advantages?

Similarities: Same 4Cs grading: Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat Certified by reputed gem labs (IGI, GIA, SGL) Identical hardness, brilliance, and durability Differences / Advantages: Much more affordable for the same quality — LGDs often cost 60-75% less than mined diamonds. Ethically and environmentally superior: no mining, no risk of conflict diamonds, less environmental damage. Greater purity: Many LGDs are Type IIa (low nitrogen content), which is rare in mined diamonds. More predictable supply and pricing, less dependence on mining companies and unpredictable scarcity.

Are LGDs certified? How do I verify them?

Yes — reputable LGD sellers issue certification from trusted gem labs like IGI, GIA, SGL. The certificate details the 4Cs and confirms that the diamond is lab-grown. Always ask for and keep the certificate; it’s essential for resale, warranty, or service claims.

Do LGDs lose value or have resale potential?

Resale value depends on market demand, quality (4Cs), certification, and brand reputation. As LGD adoption grows, resale potential is improving. However, resale prices are often lower than what was originally paid—similar to natural diamonds.

Can I use LGDs for engagement rings and fine jewellery?

Absolutely. LGDs are fully suitable for every kind of fine jewellery: engagement rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, etc. Their hardness and durability make them ideal for daily wear pieces.

How and how often should I clean and care for my LGD jewellery?

A gentle routine clean every 2–3 weeks (if worn often) helps maintain sparkle. Use mild soap with lukewarm water, soak, gently brush with soft-bristled brush, rinse, and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasives. Store each piece separately (soft pouches or fabric-lined boxes) to prevent scratches or friction. Avoid wearing jewelry during heavy chores, swimming (especially in chlorinated water), or applying lotions/perfumes before putting on the piece.

What is your return, exchange, and buy-back policy?

15-day money-back policy for in-stock items (excluding custom) with deductions and quality checks. Lifetime exchange/upgrade: For exchange, give credit at prevailing metal rate (100%) + diamond rate (100%), less taxes/making charges. Buyback: 100% of metal value + 80% of diamond value (with mentioned deductions and discounts given earlier). Certificate must be returned; loss of certificate results in deduction. For detailed information, please visit their respective pages on the website.

Do you offer year-round maintenance / cleaning services?

Yes. We offer complimentary cleaning and inspection once a year (Yearly Maintenance), provided the jewellery has not been altered by a third party. You may adopt or adjust this (free cleaning once per year for lifetime) as part of your policy. For detailed information, please visit their respective pages on the website.

What documentation is needed to claim returns, buyback, or warranty service?

You will need: Original product Original invoice The certificate (diamond / gemstone certificate) If the certificate is lost or damaged, extra charges for re-certification may be deducted. For detailed information, please visit their respective pages on the website.

What happens if jewellery is modified or repaired by a local jeweller?

Typically, any unauthorized alteration or repair outside the brand’s approved service voids guarantees, exchange, or buyback privileges. Always ensure repairs are done via the brand or approved service center to retain your benefits.

How long does it take for maintenance, repair, or service?

Turnaround time (TAT) for maintenance or repair is generally 15–21 working days (excluding shipping time). You may also be informed if complex repairs will take longer.

Do you ship jewelry for maintenance or repairs, and who bears the cost?

Yes, items are shipped back and forth for service. Usually, the customer bears shipping/logistic costs both ways. For detailed information, please visit their respective pages on the website.
